PITTSBURGH, PA - Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Benjamin Moore, 62 years old from Pittsburgh’s Northside neighborhood. Moore was wanted for Aggravated Assault on an NEI warrant for fleeing the scene of an incident involving his girlfriend in 2009. Moore and his girlfriend had an altercation inside a Hill District address which turned physical. During the fight, Moore picked up a plate throwing it at his girlfriend and it struck her in the face resulting in a one and a half inch cut requiring stitches to close.
After several attempts to locate Moore, he was placed on the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” website and Comcast’s “Fugitive Files” On-Demand program. This morning, a Comcast viewer called the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office after watching the updated January “Fugitive Files” program. The tipster stated that Moore was inside the Jubilee Kitchen located on Fifth Avenue in the Hill District. At 1030 hours, Sheriff’s Deputies entered the kitchen and located Moore sitting at a table awaiting his lunch. Deputies approached Moore and immediately placed him into custody without incident.
Moore was transported to the Allegheny County Jail and is currently being held without bond until such time he is brought before the court to answer to these charges.
