PITTSBURGH, PA – Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the apprehension of Raymond Jones Jr., 26 years of age from the Northside neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh.

Jones was wanted on three criminal bench warrants all originating with charges in relation to firearms violations and drugs over the past two years. All of Jones’ warrants, which were issued in December 2011 and March 2012, were due to Jones forfeiting his bond regarding these three cases.

This morning, sheriff’s deputies received information that Jones was seen in the 4000 block of Perrysville Avenue in his native Northside neighborhood. Deputies immediately went to the address given by the tipster and viewed a man with similar characteristics to Jones. After making a positive identification, Jones was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies without incident. After being searched, Jones was found to have over $2,000.00, as well as two bundles of heroin, containing a total of 20 stamp bags. Jones was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, where he will be held without bond and await arraignment on new charges regarding the contraband found on him.
