(Pittsburgh, Pa)- Sheriff William P. Mullen announces the arrest of Irvin Glaze, 43 years old, from Wilkinsburg. Glaze was scheduled to appear in court this afternoon on an unrelated matter and was waiting outside the courthouse during lunch. While waiting outside, Glaze did observe Clairton Police Officer James Kuzak in his wheel chair traveling on 5th Avenue. Glaze engaged Officer Kuzak in conversation and at one point threatened Officer Kuzak by stating “ what would you do if I threw you out of that chair”. Glaze then followed Officer Kuzak on 5th Avenue and continued yelling at him “you did those boys wrong”. Officer Kuzak then entered another building to tend to other business. After completing that business, Officer Kuzak came to the Sheriff’s Office to file a report.

After the encounter with Officer Kuzak, Glaze did appear for his court case in Criminal Court. While in the courtroom, Glaze was observed causing a disturbance in front of court personnel. Judge Lazzara ordered deputies to take him into custody. When deputies approached Glaze he attempted to assault them but was unsuccessful. A scuffle then ensued and Glaze had to be tasered to be taken in to custody. When Officer Kuzak came to file his complaint Glaze was already in custody at the Allegheny County Jail. After hearing Officer Kuzak’s complaint and description deputies were able to determine that Glaze was the actor that had threatened and harassed Officer Kuzak.

In regards to the incident with Officer Kuzak, Glaze will be charged with Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct. The charges in relation to the incident in the courtroom, Glaze will be charged with Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct. He will be arraigned later this evening on those charges and will also be held without bond by the court in relation to today’s court appearance.
