Tony Griffith began working at the Sheriff’s Office in March 2008 as a clerk in the Civil Division, but soon thereafter was transferred to the Investigations Division and then Administration. Currently, he serves as the Communications Director where he oversees the office’s website and social media channels. Additionally, Griffith serves as administrator of the report management system.

Griffith primarily creates and maintains content for web and social, while also crafting media advisories and press releases as needed.  Furthermore, he creates literature for distribution, inter-office forms and management of mobile devices.

Prior to his county employment, Griffith worked as a Constituent Services Specialist for the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives. The majority of his work at the state-level was problem solving for constituents in the southern neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, Baldwin and Castle Shannon.

Griffith is an alumnus of Westminster College (2006) and the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (2017), where he graduated with a bachelor’s in political science and master’s in urban and regional planning, respectively.

Although born and raised in Mt Lebanon, Griffith now resides in the Brookline neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh with his Doberman, Kennedy. Outside of the Sheriff’s Office, he runs his own DJ entertainment business and volunteers his time with the Brookline Together community development corporation.
